O segundo condicional é formado com o
passado simples na primeira oração e would na segunda (ou vice-versa):

If I
had more time, I would work more.
Se eu tivesse mais tempo, eu trabalharia mais.

If I
didn't have to work, I would go with you.
Se eu não tivesse que trabalhar, eu iria com você.

Pay attention, we always say: If I, he, she, it were ...
